A traditional process one leaf / one bud ratio black tea from the high mountains of Zhenyuan in Simao prefecture.  Lightly wilted the leaves still have a slight greenish color amongst the vivid brown-red color.  The traditional processing gives the tea nice floral aroma and taste and allows for longer term aging.  This tea can be drunk for several years, and will have noticeable changes (and improvements) for up to 2 years!

Yunnan black gold tea is precious

"This product is great with a quality tea cha. Perfect tea for a summer day. It’s great to drink by its self with no milk or sweetener. If you order this tea you will be very happy."

An exquisite "everyday tea"

"A very reasonably priced, excellent teas. It is perhaps not as sophisticated as some of the more expensive black Yunnans, but I like it better than most of them. It has a strong, bold taste, a little bite from the tannin (don't overbrew, start from 180 degrees) and easily gives 6 gaiwans of excellent brew. A great morning tea."

Not good

"I struggle to comprehend the positive reviews on this tea. The larger leaves were bad, and the smaller stuff was downright unusable. Unfortunately I bought two bags because I have yet to have a bad product from Yunnan sourcing, so I figured I would buy two and save on shipping. But this was the first and last time I buy two bags of anything I have not yet tried. I had to use 3 to 4x the amount I normally do to get any flavor whatsoever. . . and by then it was so bitter I had to add honey to offset it (i normally add nothing to my tea) and overall just empty and/or bitter. If I used the amount I normally use, it was exceptionally weak like I had already steeped it multiple times even though it was the first steep. I tried every brewing method you can imagine. . its just not good tea. It smells good, but the taste is somehow not correlative to the smell. . . I suspect there was better parts and worse parts of this batch, and I just got the bad part. Because there are many positive reviews and I am not a picky person when it comes to black tea whatsoever. . so I think that is indicative of how bad this tea was if even I did not like it. With that said, its not the end of the world. I have been ordering from YS since 2020 and this was the very first tea I got that was genuinely bad, not just a flavor I did not prefer, etc. Everything else has been great. So I probably need to stick to some slightly more expensive teas in the future."

"Really good quality tea, not my favorite black tea I've had, but thats just personal preference. it was very good quality and came fully sealed. Will try a different tea from Yunnan sourcing."

pretty good

"I am enjoying it, and the price is nice, but there are other red teas that have a little more of what I am looking for. This is a fine tea for what it is though."
