This bamboo white is made from April 2024 harvested tea that is processed into a shade-dried white tea and then packed into bamboo sections and then roasted. After roasting, sections of the bamboo were removed to allow the tea to breathe a bit. Each bamboo section contains 500 grams of tea.

The taste is creamy and fruity, with a nutty roasted taste. It's a white tea, but made from pure assamica varietal!

Da Qing Gu Shu (Da Qing Old Tree) is made from old tree tea leaves picked from the first flush of Spring. Da Qing village is a remote area located in Jinggu County (Simao) with unadulterated tea trees growing on the nearby hillsides. The leaves for this production are from one family whose trees are the oldest in the area. The age of the trees is between 100-300 years old.

"Took the chance and bought a whole bamboo, this was an amazing tea with great body and flavor. Steeps into eternity and I agree with Christopher about the apple cider flavor. I’ve tried brewing this several ways and found ging fu was the best. I’ve thermos brewed, western, and grandpa as well and gong fu just brings out so many complex notes that I’d say it’s the best way to brew this tea. Great buy!"

Great and Unique White Tea!

"Another great pick for 2025! Brewed it with my two brothers. We noticed it likes a little bit less hot of a brew, around 185, 190. Sweet, earthy with some fruit flavors coming through. Still learning it, as a few have mentioned the apple cider flavor to it. If you haven't tried it, for sure grab some!"

Totally worth it, what a great tea!

"The first thing that came to my mind when I tasted it for the first time: This one is truly worth it! Also, the bamboo wood is huge haha! I put it besides my Zi Ni Purple Clay "Long Dan" Teapot * 120ml for size reference. I thought that it would have an intense "bambooey" flavor, but it contributes more of a slight complex undertoned oomph of aroma and likewise taste of roasted bamboo. It's very slight but present, adds but doesn't substract or overpower. Unlike any other white tea I've ever had. The aroma reminds me of a top shelf cologne with intense but rounded out roasted wood aroma (of course) that in the flavor is more present in the first 3 steepings but calms down late, caramelized hazelnuts, floral, creamy and smooth. The cha qi is strong, I love it!"
