Another great ripe tea from Cha Nong Hao Brand!   This one is aptly named "Double Power Tiger".  We've taken some small liberties with the translation from the original Chinese name "如虎添翼", which means literally "Tigers with Wings".  Tigers are already the among the two most powerful animals in the Chinese Zodiac, so the concept of a tiger with wings is meant to convey something ultra powerful.

The tea itself is ultra-tasty and smooth after many years of aging.  It's a 2015 harvested tea from the Bulang mountains in Menghai that was wet-piled in Menghai and then aged in Menghai as well.  Smooth, with chocolatey bittersweetness and a dark thick tea soup!

Very enjoyable semi-aged ripe that was pressed just this year!

Pretty Good

"This is a pretty great tea. . . . I prefer other kinds of Puehr, but I do think this is a tea I could go to again as one I can trust. . ."

Great!

"This is a great little cake. Smooth and sweet. This would probably be a great introduction to ripe for someone who's on the fence. Very easy daily drinker. I got it for free with a code and I think it was 100% worth it."

Great Little Cake

"Very nice ripe puerh! Pretty thick tea soup with some cacao notes and nice calming cha qi. Was able to steep it 10+ times and did not lose much flavor. Beautiful artwork too!"

Smooth and Full Bodied

"This ripe pu erh brews up a smooth and full bodied soup that provides many pours. Nice earthy and forest aromas and flavors that are well balanced. No bitterness or astringency. I didn't get the chocolate notes the other reviewer mentioned, but I am still learning my way around pu erh flavor profiles so my taste buds may not be fully in tune yet. I recommend this tea to anyone looking for a very good ripe pu erh at a fantastic price."

Great beginner shou!

"Yes, this is an ultra smooth and thick ripe, virtually no wet pile taste as well. Incredibly easy to brew - it can not be over brewed. Here’s the thing though, you have to use a whole lot of leaf. 7g/100ml is no where near enough. It’s bland and one dimensional with that brew parameter. Essentially you need to completely fill the gaiwan or teapot and hit it with boiling water. You can steep it for minutes if you want, it will not get bitter. But the result is a thick, ultra smooth chocolatey liquor reminiscent of espresso. Candidly, I don’t get much more than that, flavor wise, but am satisfied as it is. No moss/earth, wood, fruit, leather. Just rich dark chocolate. I literally had so much leaf in the gaiwan that after it expanded, the leaf rose above the top of the gaiwan. Ultra rich, ultra chocolatey and ultra smooth that is impossible to over brew. Perhaps with more age it will develop some spice typical of a Bulang."
