Imperial style black from Yixing in Jiangsu. The home of the world famous Purple "Zisha" Clay Teapots is also an area that produces some less-known but still world-class black tea!
We are proud to offer three grades of Yixing Hong for you to enjoy!
Our imperial grade "tippy" is a low temperature process black tea that preserves the downy hairs on the tea, giving it a sweet and malty character. If brewing gong fu style we recommend 80-90C water with very short steeps (for the first 3-4 steeps) to get the most out of this incredibly unique and textured tea!
Harvested in Late-April each year!
