2024 Yunnan Sourcing "Pa Liang Wild" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake
This ripe cake is pressed from a wet pile batch done entirely from Pa Liang village wild tea! Wild tea trees and bushes ranging in age from 30-80 years were harvested during the first flush of spring 2023 and then wet piled in the autumn of 2023. Pa Liang village is a small village in the Bu Lang mountains of Menghai. Pa Liang has a balanced bitter-sweet profile that is at once bitter, thick and potent, but with a creamy character and a textured expansive mouth-feel.
For those of you who purchase this tea during the year of 2024 expect that there will be some wet pile taste throughout 2024, but will fade gradually as the tea ages. Remember that pu-erh increases in palatability and complexity with age! In Chinese we refer to this as 越陈越香.
