Aged Raw Pu-erh Tea

I have found satisfaction brewing this at 200 Fahrenheit with 4 grams per 100 mL of water for 30 seconds. The soup is more opaque than coffee. It finally becomes translucent on the 6th infusion, but I don't know if it was done at that point as i can only drink so much tea in one setting and I'll tell you why I had to cut myself off in a moment, so hang on for a few more sentences. The flavor has a strong mineral start, quickly becoming creamy & savory like a dark beef mushroom soup with a distant fruity chord in the center and a sweet like sugar undertone that is light but appropriate to the ensemble I've described thus far. Quite typical of other similar teas, honestly.

What earns it my five stars is the level of tea drunkenness i experienced. I suddenly felt focused & energized but not frenetic. This is a good, "I'm going through a mild depressive episode, I haven't refilled my Ritalin prescription, nor have I slept in 24 hours and I have a job interview on which everything hangs in the balance so i really, really need to give good face or else" kind of tea.

It did make my lips and the tip of my nose tingle pleasantly for a little bit, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

I suggest making this an emergency staple in everyone's tea chest.

First time trying this type of tea, but just like the golden flowers it's quickly growing on me and is a worthy daily drinker. The color and clarity reminds me of drinking a fine bourbon. The taste is even more special and must be experienced to truly understand the complexity of this tea.

I really love using this tea brewer as it makes the process of brewing tea in the traditional style effortless. It’s also small enough to fit on my desk without obtrusive and the glass wood and metal construction feels high quality. I also love the whole magnetic mechanism.

bought on the recommendation of a friend, this tea got me into gong fu style brewing. great value even if you use a lot. i definitely will be getting more
