This is a medium elevation Dan Cong grown at about 850 meters altitude near Zhong Ping Village in the Wu Dong mountains northwest of Feng Huang town. Picked and processed in April from 25-30 year old tea bushes, and then carefully processed to perfection.
The tea was processed like a traditional Dan Cong, but with minimal oxidation to preserve the teas creamy, floral jasmine-like aroma. Although this tea bears the name "Jasmine Aroma" (茉莉香) there was no use jasmine flowers or oils of any kind to achieve the effect. In reality, it's not similar to a true jasmine tea, nor does it attempt to be. It just has the faintest, most subtle similarity. Most the tea is green, viscous, sweet, bitter, floral and slightly astringent. Good creamy body, pungent taste and aroma, and of course a pleasant calming cha qi.
